Manager, Tony Ricketts, has strengthened his squad with a number of new signings.
Joining the team are: Ian Parkes – midfield. Former England Futsal captain, he now works as an FA Regional PE and Coaching Educational Co-ordinator and holds a UEFA ‘B’ coaching licence.
George Brimson – striker. Previous clubs include Bristol Rovers.
Nathan Loader – defender. Local lad, a familiar face at Winterfield Road having played for our U-18s. Nathan is now an Academy coach with Southampton.
Ed Baldy – goalkeeper. Only 23 years old, but very experienced having played for Kidderminster Harriers and local rivals, Frome Town.
Will Hailston – striker. Played for Rovers’ Under-18s, but in senior football, his clubs include Bishop Sutton and Bristol Manor Farm.
Elliot Gibbons – midfield –Returns to Winterfield Road for a second spell. He has spent the last two seasons with Mangotsfield United.
Ibrahima "Ibz" Diallo – midfield. Another player returning for a second spell, Ibz represented Great Britain in the 2012 Paralympics football competition.
Reeko Best – striker. Also joins us from rivals, Bridgwater Town.
Conor O’Sullivan – defender. Former Southampton youth player.
They will be joined by two new recruits from last season’s league champions, Cinderford Town. Elliott Keitghley is a defender who also captained Hartpury College’s successful side last season and is a former Cheltenham Town youth team player. Ryan Shaw hails from Birmingham and is another Hartpury College student and is an attacking midfield player.
Retained from last season are Jordan Ricketts, Alex Grimshaw, Sol Wheatley, Lamar Powell and Joe Chandler.
The first training session was held last Monday night (27th June). The 2016/2017 Evostik Southern League fixtures to be released at 9 a.m. on 15th July and the season commences on 6th August.
