After not having a game last Saturday as original opponents, Hereford, had an FA Cup match, this Saturday, Evesham United are Paulton’s visitors to Winterfield Road in the Evostik Division One South and West, kick-off at 3 p.m.
The match will be sponsored by Somer Valley FM to commemorate sports presenter, Ian Nockolds’ 100th live match commentary. Ian’s Tuesday night Sports Show recently won the UK Community Radio’s Sports Programme of the Year. Also present will be a representative from local charity, SWALLOW, which helps young people with learning disabilities.
Next Tuesday, Rovers travel to Bishops Lydieard in the Somerset Premier Cup, kick-off at 7.30 p.m.
The Youth Team started the Somerst Floodlit League campaign last Thursday with a 5–1 home win over Larkhall Athletic and the sides meet again at Winterfield Road on Thursday this week in the First Qualifying Round of the FA Youth Cup, kick-off at 7.30 p.m.
On Wednesday, 28th September, it is back to league action at Wells City, kick-off at 7.30 p.m.
The Sunday XI won 8–0 last weekend, thrashing visitors, RAOB Chippenham United. Rovers took the lead after nine minutes through Tom Plummer and added a second after twenty minutes. Ash Boucher and minutes later, Plummer, made it 3–0. Just before half-time, Dan Baber added a fourth and Jamie Rothwell made it 5–0.
Mid-way through the second half, Justin Dowling made it six, then Baber scored a penalty in the 72nd minute. Dowling hit the post before completing the scoring with seven minutes left to play.
This Sunday, the team travel to Tone Youth Juniors in the Somerset Sunday County Cup, kick-off at 10.45 a.m.
