Do you have what it takes to be the next John Motson? Somer Valley FM are looking for budding sports reporters to support their Saturday Live sport show, broadcast every Saturday from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Starting in September, Saturday Live provides live match updates from Paulton Rovers, Welton Rovers, Radstock Town and Midsomer Norton Rugby Club. The hour long show, hosted by Richard Burgess, features many of the contributors to the long standing Somer Valley Sport Show, as well as including interview features and music.
Somer Valley FM, like the sports teams it covers, is run by volunteers and like any voluntary organisation, the community radio station could do with more support. At the moment, Saturday Live match reports are provided by Club officials who often have a number of other duties on a match day. As the programme grows, there will be opportunities to involve new teams, as well as providing more match day support to the Clubs already covered.
