A goal from skipper, Lewis Collier, six minutes from time was enough to earn Frome Town Sports all three points in their away fixture with Timsbury Athletic in the Somerset County League Division One East. Until then, the game had 0–0 written all over it with neither keeper having many serious saves to make.

Ben Mines had the earliest chance for the visitors, but shot over the bar while Ellis Hancock came close for Timsbury with his free-kick going into the side-netting after being deflected by a Frome defender. A long ball from Callum Taylor then found Darrell Ridewood in space for the home side, but he lobbed well over the top. Jimmy Hailston and Joe Parker came close for Timsbury, but both their efforts went the wrong side of the post. A goal-bound effort from Luke Litterick was cleared off the Timsbury goal line by James Noad and a speculative shot from George Walker-Wiltshire again failed to test Jack Newman in the Timsbury goal, as it sailed well over the top.

Early in the second half, Jack Metcalf spurned a great chance to give Frome the lead, when he shot wide after racing clear. At the other end, Parker had a clear sight of goal, but his weak shot was easily held by Frome custodian, Scott Armstrong. Jamie Mines then broke clear for the visitors, but was another player to lob over the bar. Then, as the game drifted towards an inconclusive ending, Frome were awarded a free-kick on the left and Grant Aven’s accurate delivery was headed past Newman by Collier.

The result sees Frome move further away from the drop zone, but leaves Timsbury firmly entrenched in the danger area.
