The Mid-Somerset Football League are leading the way in the Somerset County Cups, with Coleford already through to the final of the Junior Cup and after Saturday’s results, there will be at least one team in the Final of the Intermediate Cup, hopefully two.

Bath Villa are through to the Semi-Final, beating Belrose at home 5–1. They will now play Victoria, who came through their home game against AFC Camel, 5–0. Baltonsborough had to wait to see who they had to play in the Semi-Final, out of Ilminster at home and Timsbury Reserves, with a hat-trick from Mark Hancock, Clive Curtis (2), Tim Midgeley and Mike Reynolds, the away team romped home.

In the Premier League, Coleford have extended their lead at the top of the table to fourteen points after beating Interhound at home 5–0. Amongst the goals were a hat-trick from Luke Litterick and goals from Les Allen and Jack Davis.

Westfield Reserves are in second place after beating Frome Collegians, 2–1; Radstock A move up to third with a very good away win at Welton Arsenal, 4–1, Mells move up a place with a hard fought 2–1 home win against Temple Cloud, and Purnell Reserves move above Wells A, beating them away 3–0.

Baltonsborough, in the First Division, close the gap to two points on leaders, Victoria, just getting past High Littleton at home 2–1. Chilcompton Reserves have had a turn of fortune, leaking four in the previous game and last Saturday conceding another five away to Chew Magna Reserves.

There was a really surprising scoreline in the Second Division with Westhill Sports Reserves beating high-flying Somer Valley, 2–0. This was only their third victory of the season in the league, Peasedown Albion move a little closer to the league title, beating Frome Town Sports Reserves 7–0. Their marksmen were Dan Hucker (4), Scott Baker (2) and Mark Gould and they have a six point cushion at the top of the table. Pensford Reserves secured their third win of the season in the league, beating Mells 6–2 at home. A single goal from Coleford Reserves’ Macauley was enough to get all three points away to Glastonbury Reserves and Saltford did really well to go to fourth-placed Evercreech and win 2–1.

In the Third Division, leaders, Peasedown Albion Reserves, were made to fight hard for a single point away against bottom team, Pilton Reserves, with the final score being 3–3. Wessex go level on points with the top team after beating Chilcompton United away 4–1 and Westfield A move up a place, beating Purnell A 1–0 away.

Paul Kingman and Colin Brain, the Managers of the Mid-Somerset Pick of the League team, are sorting out their players to play against Yeovil Pick of the League on Tuesday, 14th March at Shepton Mallet, kick-off at 7.30 p.m. This will be a well-contested game, as always, with some great football being played. Don’t miss it!
