On Tuesday, 11th November, members of Fosseway Bowls Club gathered to hear about the work of Macmillan and to make a formal presentation of the funds raised this year.
Ethne Dando, local Chair for Macmillan, gave us a very interesting insight of the history and work undertaken by the charity.
Many of our members have called upon Macmillan and similar charities for help and this year, we were reminded of this need again when we lost our Club President, Richard Jones, to cancer after a long, hard-fought battle with the disease.
Each year, Fosseway Club members take part in the Macmillan Big Coffee Morning and also raise funds with a plant sale in early summer. This year's grand total of the two events is £1,066, a magnificent sum and our best yet!
