Fosseway ground staff worked miracles in atrocious conditions to prepare a great course for the Seniors Roger Tabb Cup.

Principal beneficiaries were Bobby Smith and Johnny Bendle who came in first with a net 65. Also on 65, but second on countback, were Colin Moon and John Appleton, whilst bronze on the podium went to Kenny Tucker and Dennis White with a net 68.

The Seniors' final away fixture at Windwhistle G.C., Cricket St Thomas, ended in a 4½–1½ defeat. To the manor born were the recharged Malcolm Hamblin and Howard Nowell, who won on the eighteenth. Allen Cheney and Arthur Bellinger managed to keep the wind in their sails to record a half, whilst the becalmed pairings of Terry Button with key player, Frank Reeves (2&1) Rod Bruce and Cyril Blacker (5&4) and George Underwood and Reg Curtis (5&4) could only whistle for a victory. Pete Fitch lost partner, Mike Ricketts, with a back injury after six holes but struggled on manfully to a 6&5 defeat.
