A LONG season ended in success for local runners of Somer Athletic Club. Their Juniors section, with athletes ranging from 8 to 12 years of age, capped a series of strong performances by winning the Wiltshire Junior Race League Trophy.
This was presented to Juniors Lead Keith Cradock at the Four Counties cross country event at Bath University. This reflects not only the strength of local running talent but also the efforts of the Somer coaching team.
It was a cross border 1-2 as Frome Running Club were just behind in second place following a series of races held across the Spring Summer and Autumn. Somer triumphed at seven of the eight events comprising races at Corsham, Semington, and more locally at Somer AC’s Little Tuckers run near Faulkland.
