The rain relented for the January Medal of the Fosseway Seniors Golf Section and it produced a string of good scores.

Leading the way was Geoff Hallett, who went round in 76 and made a mockery of his twenty handicap. His nett score of 56 pipped his playing partner, John Appleton, by two shots, with Allen Cheney, third, with the best gross score of the day, 73 (nett sixty). The medal was followed by the Seniors' AGM.

In his annual report, the General Secretary, Ray Lake, who is also the new Captain, looked back on another successful season for the Seniors. He said that there had been good support for the club competitions and results against other clubs had been more than satisfactory, with a particularly good showing against Saltford in the County Rose Bowl. He thanked Cyril Blacker, who had taken over as Captain early in the season from Gerry Rowell, who had been forced to stand down due to health problems. Tributes were paid to Allen Cheney, who had given up as the organiser of the Seniors' Open, but Lake said he was pleased to report that Gerry Rowell had taken over for the event, which will be held on July 3rd this year. A number of good prizes were on offer.

Competition Secretary, Rod Bruce, reported that the puttsomes event had again been very successful with an excellent barbecue to follow. Holding a separate turkey trot had proved to be the right decision. The groundsman, George Bidmead, was warmly thanked for his continued support.

Colin Moon, the Treasurer, gave his usual comprehensive financial report, which showed the club accounts to be in good shape. Membership had declined since 2010, but participation in competitions and medals had held up well.

Terry Button discussed the club away day and it was decided to go to Wheathill, on Wednesday, 28th May. It was reported that a number of the club's perpetual trophies were now in poor condition and the committee agreed to see which of them needed to be replaced.

The election of officers resulted as follows: Captain, Ray Lake, Vice-Captain, George Underwood, Treasurer, Colin Moon, General Secretary, Ray Lake, Competition Secretary, Rod Bruce, Medal Secretary, Brian Phelps, Fixture Secretary, Howard Nowell, Seniors' Open Secretary, Gerry Rowell, Seniors' Open Co-ordinator, Howard Nowell, and Press Officer, Malcolm Tucker.
