Fosseway Seniors Golf member, Mike Ricketts, has not enjoyed the easiest of years and illness meant he missed a good part of the summer events.
However, the popular stalwart of the club finished 2014 on a high, winning the December Medal on countback. His nett total of 63 was equalled by runner-up, Geoff Hallett. Countback was also needed to determine third place, with Gerry Rowell (nett 64) nudging out Phil Moody.
The quarter-finals of the Winter League are due to take place on 6th January and the line-up is beginning to take shape. Having won Group One, Club Champion, Bill Lester, takes on the runner-up in Group Three, Seniors Captain, George Underwood. The winner of Group Three, Seniors Vice-Captain, John Appleton, faces the Group One runner-up, Terry Button. Graham Edgell has already won Group Two, but the other placings are still to be decided.
