Farrington Park welcomed members of other clubs throughout the area last Monday, 17th June, when the Lions Club of Radstock and Midsomer Norton held their tenth Charity Golf Day.
The mild weather enabled the golfers to complete their rounds by mid-afternoon, followed quickly by the presentation of the many awards. Organised by Lions Geoff Moore and Derek Yelling, the Four BBB Stableford Competition was won by Farrington members, J. Eke and G. Marsh, with a score of 46, followed by three pairs of 45 on countback. Ladies, B. Rylance and K. Clarke, scored 43. B. Palfrey won the putting competition with a score of ten.
The proceeds of the day were given to the Great Western Air Ambulance Charity and local deserving causes. Penny Lawrence, Events and Community Fundraiser, accepted a £1,000 cheque on behalf of the Air Ambulance Charity, thanking the Lions Club organisors for their hard work and for choosing her charity as the beneficiary. Thanks are extended to club members and businesses for the donation of holes and raffle prizes, ably organised by Lion, Margaret Small. Top prize of tea for two at Ston Easton Park went to Chris Liberty.
