John Bendle and Howard Nowell proved a potent pairing in the latest competition in the Seniors section of Fosseway Golf Club, winning the Stan Brown Cup by four clear shots.
In the Four Ball Better Ball, Bendle recorded his best ever gross score of 71 and with good support from Nowell, they carded a nett 55. For the second time in a fortnight, Allen Cheney and Geoff Weeks had a successful morning, finishing with a nett 59, just nudging out third placed John Ticehurst and Seniors’ Captain, John Appleton, on countback.
On Monday March 21st, the Seniors will be making the short trip to Farrington Park to take on Shortwood Lodge in the Seniors’ Somerset Bowl.
