The morning commenced with the playing of the Ray Dando Trophy and some excellent scores were recorded. The winning score, however, was Mark Greenman, with 41 points, which, bearing in mind that only three clubs and a putter were allowed, is a superb score.
The afternoon festivities took place in the Park Suite where almost 100 Senior golfers attended the annual Christmas lunch. An excellent meal was provided by Head Chef Rich Morley and his crew and massive thanks also to Mia, Amber and the additional waitressing and bar staff for looking after us so well. As you know, we can get a bit noisy after a few lemonades!
Senior Captain Alan
Skivington started proceedings by introducing our invited guests, Farrington Park owner, Paul Harwood, General Manager, Kev
Mortimer, Head Greenkeeper Andy Grabham and Golf Manager, Jon (Ely) Calway. Our thanks to Kev for providing a complimentary bottle of port for each table.
Senior Treasurer, Ian Clement, as is customary, organised an excellent free raffle with many prizes of the bottle shaped variety up for grabs. Thank you, Ian, for all of your efforts. We must not forget Chris Liberty, our resident photographer, who goes to great effort to ensure that only the best
photographs are for
public viewing – some must be viewed with caution!
This year’s trophy

A draw was made after every member in attendance was asked to insert folding money into an envelope with their name on in aid of this year’s Captain’s Charity, The Brain Tumour Charity. A magnificent total of £670 was raised and the winning envelope belonged to Steve Park, who won a Titleist golf bag generously donated by the Pro Shop.
