After the excitement of last week’s Biddle Flags competition, it was back to a more straight forward monthly medal competition for the Farrington Park Ladies.
The field of thirty-two was divided into three divisions to even up the wide range of handicaps amongst the ladies.
There were some good scores amongst the divisions, but only one player managed better than a nett course par of 72. The weather warnings of heavy rain and thunderstorms of previous days resulted in many of the pins being placed at high points on many of the greens; a wise decision by the green-keepers but most of the field found it difficult to find them in a decent scoring number.
There were two 2 spot birdies from Dawn Stacey at the 8th hole and Pauline Young at the 15th.
Division Three winner was Lesley Stone with nett 74, Maureen Tayler with nett 75 took second place with Kath Cox third with nett 78. Division Two winner was Heather Woodland with nett 76, Jenny Howarth scored nett 77 for second place, two shots better than third placed Denise Baker.
Division One scoring was tight at the top, Rosi Brown beating Hayley Bullock on countback for second place after both had a nett 73.
