On Ladies’ Morning, 17th August, 33 ladies entered the Sycamore Trophy; a Stableford competition for teams of three. The format was a 123 Bowmaker, with one score to count on the par-fives, two scores to count on the par-fours and all three scores to count on the par-threes.

Despite the course being in excellent condition, and the promise of rain later in the day holding off, the scores were not as high as usual for many teams, except for the winning trio of Maureen Goodsir, Jane Ball and Sue Forshaw, who came in with a very creditable score of 77. In second place were Jill Eade, Jane Waller and Jackie Hobbs with 70, and in third were Peggy Edwards, Pat Roscow and Kay Clarke, with 69 points.

35 ladies entered the Qualifying Stableford competition on 24th August. There was some impressive scoring, and Jane Ball was once again on the winner’s podium with 41 points, followed by Carol King with 39 points, and Lin Papadopoullos was in third with 38 points on count-back.

In Division Two, a great day for Charlie Holmes on top spot with 39 points, followed in second by Ray Guthrie on 37 points, and Pierce O’Shea a close third on 36 points.
