The early starters had travelled to the course through torrential rain and fully expected the competition to be cancelled.

However, the weather quickly turned, and although quite breezy, temperatures were quite mild. All a bit deceiving, though, as all of those who played experienced a torrential downpour at some stage during their round.

A Bowmaker off the green tees with two-from-three to count was played by almost seventy Senior golfers. With the course in fine condition, some excellent scores were recorded.

First place: B. Brown, R. Guthrie, M. Field with 89.

Second place: R. Thain, S. Banfield, S. Cope with 85.

Nearest the Pins were Leo Seddon (5th hole), Steve Mitchell (8th), Rob Thain (14th), Mel Field (15th).

Two’s-pot winners were Colin Glibbery, Paul Cains, Steve Gay, Graham Price, Leo Seddon and Rob Thain, with one on the 10th and one on the 14th.
