The Captain of the Seniors section of Fosseway Golf Club, John Appleton, playing alongside Allen Cheney and John Waters, has captured the Continuforms Trophy at the club.

The trio finished the three ball Texas Scramble with a nett score of 51. Competition Secretary, Brian Phelps, Ken Tucker and Barry Dugmore were second with a nett 53 and Mike Ricketts, Nick Foxwell and John Williams third on 54.

The Seniors had it all to do in the second leg of the FosseKing Trophy, having lost 4–2 away to Kingweston in the first encounter. John Bendle and Denis White put in the most convincing performance, winning 4&3, while Pat Cray and Dugmore finished one up. Appleton and Terry Button lost 4&3, Cheney and Cyril Blacker were beaten 6&5, Ricketts and Phelps went down 4&3 while Malcolm Tucker and George Underwood were defeated 5&3.

There was better news in the home match with Woodbridge Park, with Fosseway winning 3–1. The pairing of Appleton and Button had a much better day, winning 6&5, while the pairings of Cheney and Malcolm Tucker and Underwood and Frank Reeves both finished 3&2 victors. The only pair to go down were Ricketts and Gerry Rowell, who lost 2&1.
