The Seniors’ section of Fosseway Golf Club enjoyed mixed fortunes in their latest social matches, with a narrow defeat at home to Whitley and a tense victory when they entertained Westbury.
There was an identical scoreline against Westbury, but this time in Fosseway’s favour. Bendle and Blacker were the most convincing winners, coming out on top 5&3, while there were 4&2 successes for Cuer and Button and the Timsbury duo of Howard Nowell and Tucker.
Geoff Hallett and Bob Smith finished all-square, but full marks to the visiting duo of Turner and Williams, who offered to come in early after Hallett was unwell. Rowell and Mike Ricketts and Allen Cheney and Williams were both involved in close finishes, only to end up one-down.
