The Seniors section of Fosseway Golf Club made the long trip to Woodbridge Park for their penultimate social match of the season, and came off very much second best.

They were beaten 5-0, and there were some heavy defeats suffered. Cyril Blacker and Graham Edgell came closest, losing 3&1; Alan White and George Underwood went down 4&3; skipper, Gerry Rowell, and Mike Weeks were beaten 6&4; Mike Ricketts and Pat Cray lost 6&5, while Martyn Cuer and Nick Foxwell were on the wrong end of an 8&6 result.

The Eric James Bogey competition saw Malcolm Tucker come out on top with a +4 result. A nett birdie earns you a plus, a par scores zero and a bogey sees you collect a minus. Blacker was second on +3 and White was third with +2.

The September medal competition proved to be a successful one for Ricketts, who won the event with a nett-63. Two shots behind were Barry Dugmore and Henry Thomas, with Dugmore claiming second place on countback.
