The Seniors’ section of Fosseway Golf Club have never found their visit to Folke an easy fixture and this year was no exception.
After beating Folke 4-2 at home the return match saw the Dorset side win 6-0. There were some close encounters with Brian Woodruff/Doug Lane, George Underwood/Cyril Blacker and Nick Foxwell/Howard Nowell all losing 2&1. Captain, Gerry Rowell and Graham Edgell were beaten 3&1; Alan White and Paul Davies lost 4&3 while Mike Weeks and Alan Jones were beaten 6&5.
The Murphy’s Stableford for the Mark Bridges Cup saw success for John Smart, who won with 37 points. Woodruff was one point behind with Ivan Love third on 34 points.
