The Seniors’ section of Fosseway Golf Club finished their series of social matches in fine style with their first away win for two years.
Having lost at Brinkworth 5-0 in 2018, they turned the tables with a 3-2 victory. Captain Gerry Rowell led the way joining up with a rejuvenated George Underwood to win 4&3. The experienced pairing of Cyril Blacker and Allen Cheney won two-up, while Alan Jones and Brian Woodruff finished one-up. Mike Weeks and Nick Foxwell were one down at the close while Competition Secretary Doug Lane and Bert Austin were beaten 5&4.
John Waters was a clear winner of the September medal competition. His nett score of 62 saw him beat second-placed Malcolm Tucker by four shots. Brian Fear was third with a nett 67.
