The Fosseway Seniors’ Golf section gained ample revenge for their narrow defeat away to Westbury earlier in the season with a resounding 6–0 victory in the return encounter.

Acting Captain Alan Jones teamed up with Cyril Blacker to win the opening match 3&2 and there was a similar result for Frank Reeves and George Underwood. Steve Cook, playing his first match for the team, joined Malcolm Tucker to win 6&5, Mike Ricketts and Nick Foxwell won 4&3 while Mike Weeks and Terry Button triumphed 2&1. The closest game saw Alan White and Allen Cheney finish 1 up.

Members were delighted to see Foxwell back in action after a recent operation and he celebrated in style, winning the latest Medal competition. Three players finished with a nett score of 62, but after countback Foxwell was declared the winner with Pat Cray in second place and Howard Nowell third. There was better news for Cray in the Clem Byrne Trophy. Together with Jack Curtis and Noel Chatfield, a total of 82 points was enough to see them win the Irish Bowmaker by just one point ahead of Jones, Button and White. White’s ball was lost on the final hole and in the end this proved crucial. Doug Lane, Weeks and Bill Lester were third with 75 points.
