On a morning so cold that even the brass monkeys were unimpressed, it was remarkable that everyone was in high spirits, which was nothing to do with the number of hip flasks on display, but simply that we have got through yet another year and Christmas will soon be upon us.

A Bowmaker with best two scores to count was played from the yellow tees and with Andy Smith enjoying a remarkable run of success for a newcomer to the sport, the winning team were almost a foregone conclusion.

There are just two more competitions in the Seniors calendar for 2021. A non-qualifying Stableford and the final event on 15th December is 3 clubs and a putter for the Ray Dando Trophy followed by the Seniors’ Christmas Dinner.
