A beautiful sunny morning, the golf course in pristine condition, as it was yesterday and the day before and the day before that. It was certainly reminiscent of Groundhog Day in the Seniors’ Club Championship as well.
Both the 2018 Gross and Net Champions successfully defended the trophies they won last year. Phil Thompson finished with a gross-81 which included ten pars, while Paul Cains had a net-69 which also included ten pars and received a handicap cut to thirteen for his troubles.
Alan Taylor coped well with his recent handicap cuts to come home with a gross-89. More importantly though, both he and Mark Chedgy stayed on to the bitter end of the presentation and were duly rewarded with £25 each for the only 2s on the day!
Gross Champion – Phil Thompson, 81; second – Steve Hobbs, 86; third – Rob Thain, 87. Net Champion – Paul Cains, 69; second – Pierce O’Shea, 71; third – Graham Bradley, 71.
