Although Apple and Amazon won’t see the funny side of things after years of ‘tax avoidance’ after the G7 summit agreed to a global minimum rate of corporation tax for the big boys.

Talking of big boys Donald Trump is facing a two year ban - only 2 years I hear you cry - from Facebook. His response was to hint at a return to the White House and reinstatement of the presidency by August. It would appear he has stopped taking his meds!

Finally before the golf news a UK ticketholder has won £111million on the EuroMillions lottery. Apparently when asked about begging letters the winner said he would continue to send them out!

Someone who was extremely happy after a sizzling round on the hottest day of the year was Mike Hedges who was the overall winner of the Seniors Medal with an excellent score of net 64 which included seven pars and a birdie on the par 3 eighth hole. His performance earned him a ‘cut’ of three shots.

Winning division 1 was Phil Thompson with a gross 79 net 70 with ten pars and 2 birdies. In second place was Colin Glibbery with a net 72 which included 8 pars and a birdie.

Winning division 2 was Mike Hedges with Jim Farmer in second place with a net 66.

In division 3 David Perrett came out on top with a net 67 with Colin Hawkins runner up with a net 69.

Don’t forget the Club Captains Draw on Sunday, 13th June in the clubhouse. Some fantastic prizes including Full Membership of the Duchy Course, Gym Membership plus many more prizes. All proceeds to Alan Fussell’s charity Above and Beyond.
