The Wells Ladies’ Captain’s Day saw a large number taking part in a Bowmaker with a twist. Teams of three found scores could be doubled on the par fives, depending on height, age and grandchildren!
Coming out tops, with 84 points, were Erica Klim, Kathy Lane and Barbara Hunt. Klim said: “Copious quantities of Pimms helped at the Green Room, followed by good team work and plenty of fun.” In second place, with 81 points, were Philippa Gowen, Janice White and Janette Norris.
Nearest the pins were Kathy Lane, Cath Levell and Sue Slade, with Jenny Davis being nearest the line on the sixteenth. Winners of the front nine were Jill Bocquet, Linda Wright and Janet Leverick, with Cath Levell, Rose Hallett and Jenny Davis winning the back nine prize.
Ladies’ Captain, Tina Davies, thanked everyone for their support during the year, and her family, for their help during the day. She was presented with a gift from all the Ladies.

Bill McCollum and Ged Ramsell were the only victorious Wells pair, winning 2+1. Chris Strickland and John Watson achieved an honourable half.
