The annual running of the Coronation Cup drew an entry of 95 players who enjoyed splendid conditions and with the green staff, thanks to the recent rain, able to get the greens running faster than of late. Division One went to Pat Meatyard, with a fine net 67, with Andy Laing second, with 68, and returning to Mendip after an absence, Neil Clarke third, with 71. Division Two went to Chris Rowe, with 67, and after a triple count-back, Jim Scott was second, and Gareth Collier third, both with 69. However, the surprise winner of the Cup came from Division Two, in the form of Club President, Tony Williams, very much a Senior these days, who carded a gross 78 net 65.
