In common with all the local Golf Clubs, Mendip is losing the battle with the continuous wet weather, which is unrelenting.

If you think back, the ground has hardly had any chance of drying out since the beginning of August. Surely the worst run of wet weather that many of us can remember. 2018 just has to be better!

Before Christmas, the annual Presentation of Trophies evening took place. There was a packed clubhouse and after the various presentations, most people stayed for a splendid supper put on by the new caterers, JJSports.

The Mendip Christmas Dinner saw 63 members and guests brave the falling snow and icy temperatures to sit down to an excellent three-course meal.

This was followed by entertainment provided by an eight-piece band, who kept everyone on their toes and dancing with some lively music.
