One hundred and twenty eight men entered the Jock Callaghan Cup.
Division One was won by Tom Chapman with an excellent sixty six with Joe Reilly second with seventy on countback from Jack Hayes.
Division Two went to James Pitchell with seventy, Richard Gumbleton was second with seventy two and Division Three saw a sixty six from Andy Neeve with young Alec Roberts second with sixty nine after countback from a rather older John Hargraves!
The Best Gross was recorded by George Morgan with a one under par seventy, but the Trophy went to a fine round from Sam Watts with a net sixty four.
The Avalon C Team unfortunately came away from their fixture away to Brean empty handed; never an easy place to visit, especially when having to give so many shots.
The Ladies weekend Stableford, combined with the Granny Trophy, saw thirty one ladies from the very young to the slightly more mature age competing.
The overall event saw one fine and one outstanding round from two of the Juniors.
Ellen Reakes came second with thirty eight points but with an outstanding forty five points, Connie Cox won the event. Connie has been in fine form recently and is seeing her handicap tumble. Pippa Brown carded thirty four points to win the Granny Trophy.
The Ladies Friendly Team halved their match versus Enmore. Winning for Mendip were Mary Ainsworth/Nola Russell and Sue Needham/Caroline Simper with Team Captain Ann Padley/Suzy Rudkin gaining a half, thanks to Suzy for filling in at the very last minute.
A good field for the Ladies Open Bowmaker saw the first three places go to visiting teams.
The clear winners with eighty points came from Burnham/Saltford, the second team with seventy one were from Tiverton beating on countback a team from High Post/West Wilts.
Best Mendip Team were Ann Lofts playing with members of Royal North Devon/Saltford.
The Seniors Avalon Team went down 1-4 when visiting Oake Manor, Bryan Lewis/Simon Atkinson secured the win. The Seniors Friendly Team continued their recent winning form with wins over Weston 4.5 - 1.5 and a fine performance to beat Burnham 4-2 with two wins and four halved matches.
There was also a hard fought for halved match achieved when visiting Sherborne.
Nearest the Pin was won by Alexander Leonard with Tom Howe second.
Popular member Bob Earney played his first golf at the Club following a long absence with health issues.
The opportunity was taken to present him with the Seniors Memorial Trophy which he won in 2021.
