There were some high scores in the May Medal competition in the Seniors section of Fosseway Golf Club, but Mike Ricketts’ nett score of 65 was enough to win the event.

John Bendle was second with a nett 67, nudging out Competition Secretary, Brian Phelps, who had a similar score, but was beaten on countback.

The Seniors again proved a formidable unit when playing at home, beating Wincanton 5–1 in the latest social match. There were some convincing results, with Gerry Rowell and John Williams and Bendle and Geoff Hallett both winning their encounters 7&6. Allen Cheney and Malcolm Tucker were 5&3 victors, while Ricketts and Pat Cray came home as 4&2 winners.

Captain John Appleton and Cyril Blacker had a tight match, eventually halving their match and there was a similar result for Vice-Captain, George Underwood and Phelps. Having drawn 3–3 in the earlier match at Wincanton, Fosseway could this year claim the bragging rights.
