Seventy players teed up for the latest Seniors’ Medal competition at Farrington Park. Playing off the green tees, the top ten finishers all shot net sub 70 rounds. Padraig Harrington, Ryder Cup Captain, has three wildcard picks for the European team against the USA in September – so keep your phones charged up, guys!
Alan Smith shot the round of the day with a net 62,
winning the Division Two tussle. Division One winner, Mike Bradbury, shot a gross 81 to beat his age, for a net 64. In second place was Jeff Bruton, who had eleven pars in his round of net 65. Alan Taylor was third with a net 69. In Division Two, runner-up to Alan Smith was John Butler, with a net 67 beating Rob Rogers on countback. Finally, in Division Three, winning with a net 65, was Ian Clement with Stephen Cockle and Fraser McGregor runners-up with net 68 and 70 respectively.
Good luck to the Farrington Park Seniors who play Worlebury in the Semi-Final of the Seniors’ Somerset Bowl – bidding to reach the final for the third year in a
