Farrington Park’s Seniors’ Vice-Captain, Phil Thompson, had cause to celebrate in the September Medal, which was played in hot summer conditions after the storms of the previous day and enjoyed by many players returning from their weekend away at Donnington Valley.

He was in charge of the presentation for the day, so took great delight in announcing himself as winner of Division One, with a score of 80–70. He was followed by Mike Hedges, with 87–71, beating Steve Ball, 88–71, on countback, with Tony Clement, 89–72, and Dave Forshaw, 87–73.

Bob Earney, back from injury, won Division Two with 95–75 from Shaun Carter, 94–76, beating Richard Collier, 98–76, on countback, Rick Clark, 94–76, and David Brown, 96–76.

Pete Maule continued his winning form from the Seniors’ trip away with 98–74 to win Division Three from Bill Waddington, 100–74, and Steve Banfield, 104–77 with Hugo Pike, 102–78, and Alan Bishop, 103–79.

Dave Woodberry won Division One with 38 points in the Men’s Saturday Stableford played in autumn conditions which made scoring difficult. Jamie Rawlings was second, with 35 points and Terry Stacey, third, on 33 points.

Ray Guthrie claimed Division Two on 39 points with Nigel Kingman in second on 37 points and Mike Lefeurve in third on 36 points.

Charlie Wigmore enjoyed a great day on the golf course in the Sunday Stableford by taking control of Division One with 42 points, a massive eight points clear of Dave Harvey with Lee Francis, third, on 33 points.

Tony Guthrie continued his excellent form winning Division Two with forty points followed by Neil Morgan in second on 34 points and Jon Brignull in third, on 32 points.
