Wells’ Avalon team needed a 5-nil win away to Long Sutton in the last game of the season to earn promotion. Unfortunately, on the day that was not possible, with only one pairing, Mike Metcalfe & Malcolm Terry, winning their match, 4&2. Ian Burr and Colin Mantle lost 1 down, James Church and John Baker lost 2&1 and Simon Jackson and Pete Walker lost 4&2. Jason Huck and Mark Western finished their season with a rare 7&6 defeat. However, Captain Jason Huck thanks everybody who has been involved over the season, including the Wells catering staff and is already looking forward to challenging for promotion again, next season.
