The Packer Cup, a Seniors’ Greensomes high/low random draw event, was eagerly contested, with good scores being posted. Conditions were most unusual – overcast with hard, dry ground.

The winners were Martin Waller and Paul Hole with 43 points, benefiting from birdies on the fourteenth and fifteenth. Chris Strickland and Roger Sarsby were second with 41 points, while Mike Metcalfe and Ian Mills came in with forty points and took third place on count-back over the last six holes.

A team of Ladies from Wells Golf Club played against Farrington Park and it was enjoyed by all. Friendly and fun in beautiful sunshine, and the course in excellent condition. The match resulted in a draw – an appropriate result after a lovely day.

Team Captain, Kathy Lane, said: “This is the perfect introduction to learn how to play in a Greensomes format, and everyone is welcome.”
