The coveted Irwin Trophy, a mixed greensomes competition, has been a long-standing trophy in the club.
The day dawned clear and bright, which brought in some good results. In first place were the husband and wife team of Dave and Jan Hayward with an amazing 44 points. This was Jan’s first competition, and she had been nervous of not playing well. However, she played some great positional shots which her husband capitalised on, and they made the perfect partnership. In second place were Phyl Lewison and Steve Clark. The mixed friendly played at home against West Wilts was an enjoyable affair. Kathy Lane, Ladies’ Captain, congratulated the visitors on their resounding win and looked forward to the return match.
