Steve Clark and Colin Mantle continued their amazing partnership in this competition, winning very easily by the dreaded dog licence – 7&6. Steve Rowse and Dave Hayward had a comfortable 3&2 win.
Nick Carter and Malcolm Terry did not need to repeat their final hole dramatics in this round, as they romped to a 5&4 victory. Nick Wilson and Bill McCollum had a real seesaw match, which ended when Bill holed a lengthy putt on the 18th for a halved match.
Glen Crocker and Mike Metcalfe controlled their contest throughout and eventually won 4&3.
Thus, Wells won the match 4.5 to 0.5 and progressed to the Final. This is the second year in a row that they have reached the final; now all that remains is another win to retain the Bowl!
The results of the Tucknott Trophy were: First, with 47 points, John Baker and Roy Elliott; second, with 46 points, Steve Clark and Mike Vincent; third, with 43 points, Warren Hamilton and John Sheppard.
