Bob Smith and Alan White led the way with a 5&4 win, Mike Weeks and Nick Foxwell were 4&3 winners, George Thurston in his first game for the club joined up with long serving member, Frank Reeves to gain a 3&2 success, while Allen Cheney and Cyril Blacker finished one up in a tight contest. Acting Captain, Alan Jones and Malcolm Tucker halved their match and the only pairing to go down were Frank Dance and Chris Appleton who lost 3&2.

The April Medal played in strong winds saw Tucker follow up his January and February successes with a third medal. His nett 63 enabled him to beat Roger Knowles by one shot with Geoff Hallett third with a nett 69.

There was also a close finish to the Individual Stableford for the Don Shearn Trophy, with Noel Chatfield coming out on top with 42 points. Foxwell was just one point behind with Blacker third with 39 points. MT
