Golf membership numbers throughout the UK continue to grow showing that interest and participation in the game is far from waning, especially with ladies and juniors.

More than 60% of UK golf clubs now have a waiting list, confirmation that golf has sustained its boom popularity.

Farrington Park seniors participated in the final medal qualifier of the season played in surprisingly mild conditions for mid-October.

Round of the day went to Martin Walker winning Division One with a level par gross score of seventy two, net sixty seven.

Division Two was won by Jim Farmer with a gross eighty six, net sixty four and a back nine of forty two.

Division Three was won by David Cross with a gross eighty eight, net sixty three. There were a number of two’s on the day with Paul Adams taking the glory with an eagle two on the eighteenth hole!

Results: Division One Martin Walker with sixty seven, Jim Lunt sixty eight, Ham Ridene sixty nine and Alan Nash seventy.

Division Two Jim Farmer sixty four, Steve Mitchell sixty six, Kirk Bizley sixty eight and Tony Quinn sixty eight.

Division Three David Cross sixty three, Steve Banfield sixty four, Hugo Pike sixty seven and Mark Howell with sixty nine.

In the final friendly fixture of the season, Farrington were victorious away to Knowle winning 5-2.

A successful season ending with eighteen wins, eight losses and four drawn matches.
