Division Two went to Steve Cox, with 36 points, with Terry Carter second with 35 after countback.

Division One saw a win for Simon Jefferies with 35 points, again after countback from Paul Lewis. The Midweek Medal saw a win for Stuart Crane, with an excellent net 71, bearing in mind the challenging conditions. Nicholas White was second with 74 and Martin Myers third with 75 after countback.

Nearest the Pin was again won by Adrian Brooking-Clark with Tony Scott second.

Forty Ladies played in a Waltzing Matilda team event in bitterly cold conditions. The winning team of Elaine Richardson/Allison Rumming/June Page/ Wendy Norman scored 80 points, three clear of second placed Carol Curtis/Anita Butcher/Jinhee Page/Diane Stanton.

Mendip’s Alliance B Team opened their league campaign with a visit to Wedmore. Unfortunately they found the home team in fine form and went down to a 11–3 defeat. Edwina Willis gained a half and there was a good win for Anita Butcher.

The Seniors visited Taunton and Pickeridge in an outstanding fixture from last season, but went down to a 5–1 defeat. Simon Wynn continued his recent fine form with a win, partnering John Scott which included a fine eagle on T & P’s fifth hole.

104 Seniors played in a Singles Stableford which resulted in very close finishes in all divisions. First Division was won by Gareth Collier, with 38 points after countback from Nigel Cheshire, with Paul Smith a point further back. Division Two went to John Roper, again with 38 points and again on countback, leaving Julian Tucker second with Brian Carter a shot behind on 37. The Veterans Division saw a triple tie on 37 points which, after countback, saw a win for Alan Evans Jones with Derek Strudwick second and James Boyce third. Tony Williams
