Congratulations to mother and sun running duo, Claire and Simon Chivers, who completed the Bristol Half Marathon last September in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society.

The pair had run before, in 2018, raising over £500 for the charity, but last year managed to up their sponsorship total to £734. It was a cause close to their hearts, as Claire’s mother (and Simon’s grandmother), passed away with Alzheimer’s at just 58 years old and Claire’s grandmother (and Simon’s great grandmother) also passed away at just 55 years old with the disease.

More money was raised in 2019, in part, thanks to Claire’s employers, Yeo Valley, who kindly donated £250 to the fund.

Claire and Simon would like to thank their family and friends for their donations and to the Alzheimer’s Society for the good work that they do. Simon will be taking on the chal- lenge again this year!
