Midsomer Norton Captain, Nick Potter, won the toss and elected to bat first on a perfect cricketing day.

Openers, James Harvey and Alex Lear, made a solid start and shared a half-century partnership before Harvey became the first of the day's five LBW victims. The second wicket took the score to 94 before Martin Cox fell to a sharp catch by wicket-keeper, Harris, who also claimed two stumpings and saved many wides in an outstanding performance. Lear (60) and Dean Clifton (33) increased the scoring rate in their partnership of 42, but when Lear was out, Russ Baker bowled an excellent spell, claiming 3–25 in ten overs. Wickets fell regularly, as no one was able to dominate the bowling and the innings closed on 240, which was a respectable, if somewhat disappointing, total.

Andrew Cox made an early breakthrough after tea and claimed the first three wickets in his spell of ten overs. Henry Voigt struggled with his line and was replaced by Nick Pang after three overs. This had a significant impact on the scoring rate as OBs were restricted to 59–3 after twenty overs. Pang and Alex Davis bowled well and the latter accounted for opener, Tom Leaver, who made a patient 41, leaving the visitors reeling at 78–6. James Domone (41) and Will Penny (19) then put together a partnership of 65 for the eighth wicket, before the returning Voigt bowled them both. Norton were unable to claim the final wicket before the overs ran out, but were worthy winners by 65 runs.
