A team of martial arts students from Jamie Woodland's Black Belt Academy recently attended an annual British open competition.

The students had been training hard in preparation knowing they would face some tough competition from various clubs from around the country.

The team had another very successful day finishing up with eighteen wins across gold, silver and bronze, with one of the team, Michelle Sargent, winning the 'Grand Champion of the Tournament' due to her placing top three in numerous divisions.

Academy instructor, Jamie Woodland, says of the team, "I am always very proud of the students, whether they come away with trophies or not, as they show great spirit in putting themselves in to compete and always represent our academy well. The huge success at this competition, once again, shows the hard work that every student puts into their weekly training and the great level of teaching from all of the academy instructors. Well done to all."
