On Monday, 6th November, students welcomed Great Britain athlete Paul Blake to Norton Hill School.
Paul was born with cerebral palsy, but did not let his condition stop him from fulfilling his lifelong dream of becoming a professional athlete.
He took part in both the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Paralmpic Games, winning bronze, silver and, eventually, a gold medal in the T36 800m and 400m events.
Paul has also won gold medals in the 2013 and 2015 World Championships, and was awarded an MBE this year.
Paul visited KS3 and GCSE PE students, and spoke about his career, the obstacles he has faced, and what it takes to compete at the highest level.
The students thoroughly enjoyed listening to Paul talk about his experiences, and were fascinated to hear about how intense his training regime is, and how fast he runs in his races, despite his disability.
