Chalice 12 Arrows 42

Arrows’ Netball team travelled to Glastonbury to take on Chalice, with the team taking to the court with a determination to take home a win.

The girls started well and fought for every ball. Harriet (GD) and Ella (GK) worked hard in the D, stopping the opponents from scoring. They limited movement for the players, making it harder for them to receive a ball. It stayed a tight quarter for the girls, which ended 3–3.

The second quarter saw some changes made to the team. Cheryl went on as GS and Rebecca changed to GA. The two worked extremely well and hard together, getting in lots of goals, bringing up Arrows’ score. Kim (WD) kept pressure on her player when it came to the opposition’s centre passes. She chased down every loose ball, making it so that Arrows were preventing Chalice from scoring all but one goal. The girls came off the second quarter leading 14–4.

After half-time, Arrows took to the court determined to make the score higher. The girls made more changes, bringing on Pip at WD. Pip played well in defence,

helping to stop the ball from travelling up to the opponents’ end. Shannon (C) and Ellie (WA) worked quickly together in mid-court, allowing the opportunity to get the ball into the D. The quarter ended 27–8 to Arrows.

Making their final changes, Arrows took to the court for the last quarter.

Everyone continued to work hard, making more fantastic interceptions and putting a lot of pressure on Chalice. Arrows finished the match with smiles on their faces and a win to take home. The final score was 42–12.

Arrows would like to thank the umpires and supporters. Player of the Match went to Shannon and Players’ Player to Ellie.
