Recently, a team representing the Somerset Bowls Executive played a five-rink match at Prattens Bowls Club. The match was originally scheduled for the start of the season to celebrate Prattens having their own green again, following a season when all games had to be played elsewhere, but the early season weather made that impossible.
The rescheduling meant that the match celebrated the completion of the first season back on our own green. Everyone seemed to enjoy the game and it was commented afterwards that the green, even after only one season, had played well.
The match, which the Executive won overall, was followed by a meal in the main clubhouse and the presentation by the Executive of a plaque to commemorate the occasion.
