JESTERS 31 BRENDON 6

On Saturday, Jesters had a hesitant start to their first away match at Taunton Vale.

The first quarter involved lots of forwards and backwards, but Brendon managed to stay ahead. In the second quarter, Jesters found their confidence and began intercepting and were able to bring the ball up the court. With the defence being extremely tight, Brendon didn’t manage to score within this quarter.

In the third quarter, we made our first change with Dawn coming off and Emma W. coming on as GD. This changed the dynamics of the court, and Jesters were going from strength to strength.

In the final quarter, scoring fourteen goals, Jesters edged even further ahead with some wonderful movement through court by the defence and attack, while Sam and Macey provided some wonderful movement into the D.

It was a great game all round, with the Players’ Player being awarded to Frankie Dezis, and the opposition’s Player of the Match awarded to Macey Newman.

MUSKETEERS 23 HIGHFIELD 59

Also in Taunton, the Musketeers played a game against Highfield.

We started with a team warm-up and then the match commenced at 1 p.m. Musketeers were trailing after the first quarter, but during the second, we gelled together and managed to reduce the number of goals that Highfield scored.

We had some amazing interceptions, and between the whole team we carried out some brilliant and accurate passes. Musketeers continued to fight but lost the game, 59 to 23. The Players’ Player and Highfield’s Player of the Match was India Kingman.

MINSTRELS 25 COMEYTROWE 31

Minstrels were the last team of the day to play, with all four teams playing in Taunton.

The game started well, however, it was strongly-contested throughout, with both teams wanting to come away with the win. In the fourth quarter, it slipped away from Minstrels and they suffered a defeat.

A good fight was put up by all players, and Tash Moss and Jemma Plummer came away with the Players’ Player awards, while Emma Dury was awarded Player of the Match for the opposition.
