The Annual Presentation of the Radstock and District Pool League took place recently, held once again at Westhill Club, and the Committee would like to express their thanks to the Club for accommodating the evening, and for allowing the League to use the venue for meetings during the season.
Westhill Club B reclaimed the Division One title, having missed out last year, and Mardons took the runners-up spot following their promotion to Division One last year. In the Second Division, the champions were Crown Inn, and returning to Division One after claiming the runners-up spot were Seven Stars B.
Westhill Club B completed the double by winning the Team Knockout Cup with victory over Purnell Sports Club B, and the Team Knockout Plate was won by Prattens Club A who defeated Paulton Rovers D in the Final.
Paul Quick (Ston Easton) became only the second player in the League’s history to win the Singles competition for three years in succession, when he beat runner-up, Shane Hammond (Riverside). He also won the Pairs competition along with Anthony Ford (Westhill B) with victory over runners-up, Fran Bailey and Steve Woodham.
The Over-50s competition saw Nigel Kerton (Crown Inn) regain the title he first won in 2017, when he beat last year’s winner, Roger Franklin. The Under-18s competition was won by Josh Singtothong, also for a third successive year, when he beat Sam Davis (Knatchbull Arms).
Hayley Desmond from the Lamb won the Ladies’ competition with victory over Sammi Hogg (Mardons). The Captain’s Cup winner was Fran Bailey (Railway), who beat Aaron Stead (Westhill B).
