MIDSOMER Norton kept up the pressure at the top of Counties One Western North with a convincing 81-24 home victory over bottom side Wellington.
It means they remain four points behind leaders Dings Crusaders, with both sides having played seven matches.
However, although Midsomer Norton won comfortably they will not have been happy with conceding four second half tries against opponents who refused to throw in the towel.
Midsomer Norton led 43-0 at the interval before Wellington hit back with two spectacular tries to reduce their lead to 43-12.
Although the visitors never looked like winning, they scored another two tries in the second half, including a five-pointer at the very end.
In all, Midsomer Norton scored a total of 13 tries, including seven in the first half which they dominated throughout.
It was their sixth win in seventh matches, while leaders Dings Crusaders remain 100 per cent after they beat Clifton 45-29 to record their seventh successive victory.
