This will be the eighth year the club has run the popular event, which returns after a two year break due to the pandemic. It offers the choice of 60, 40 or 30-mile routes over the Mendips, with stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
All three circular routes start at Ston Easton Village Hall at 9 am and the longer two routes take in Cheddar Gorge and the Somerset Levels. The shorter route has been designed with junior riders in mind, as well as those wanting a gentler day out.
Facilities provided include refreshments at the start; feed stations en-route; GPX routes; emergency back-up; free tea, coffee and cakes at the finish line; and a finisher’s certificate.
Book your place online at British Cycling for just £15 per adult or just £1 per junior (16 or under).
Event organiser, Guy Worsdall, comments: “This sportive aims to take riders to parts of the Mendips that others don’t! We can’t promise great weather, but we can promise fantastic routes with panoramic views of the best in the West, and some great cakes! We hope the shorter route with its minimum entry fee for junior riders will encourage youngsters to be part of a great day out on bikes.”
