Winscombe 2 Mendip Ladies 1st 4
Mendip continued their excellent run of form when they travelled to Winscombe on Saturday.
Three goals from Player of the Match Maddy Collins and one from Brenda Scott gave Mendip a deserved victory, after a great display of fast, attacking hockey.
This week, Mendip take a break, before resuming league duties with a home fixture against Gillingham on Saturday, 22nd February, pushback at 1.30 p.m.
Mid-Somerset 2 Mendip Ladies 2nd 5
Mendip Seconds got the better of an experienced Mid-Somerset side at Wells on Saturday. The goals were shared between some of the younger squad members and some more senior players, with Freya Harding, Emily Sparkes, Sally Stanford (2) and Carol Holmes all adding their names to the score sheet.
Mid-Somerset scored once in each half, with both goals coming against the run of play. The Player of the Match vote went to Mendip right-back, Erin Sage, who put in an excellent performance on her debut for the Twos.
This Saturday, Mendip travel to Yeovil in a rearranged fixture in Wessex 1. Pushback is at 11.30 a.m.
Mendip Men’s First team secured a 2–2 draw with Clifton Robinsons, with goals coming from Charles Ellis and Jake Rowe. Meanwhile, the Seconds earned a 5–0 victory away to Westbury to remain at the top of their division. The goal
scorers were Will Holmes, Ben Beechener and Steve Smith (3).
